Cruise-In With Community: A Day at the Fife Community Car Show

Updated: Aug 7

This past weekend, the PacWest Pressure Washing crew had the pleasure of spending a sun-soaked Sunday morning at the annual Fife Community Car Show, hosted by the dedicated team at the Fife Historical Society. Held right in the heart of town near the Dacca Barn and Fife History Museum, this beloved local event was more than just a collection of vintage cars and high-horsepower showstoppers... it was a celebration of community, legacy, and small-town pride.

Under a bright blue Washington sky, car lovers, families, and local businesses gathered to share their passions, swap stories, and admire the kind of automotive artistry that only comes from years of restoration and pride of ownership (and get a little sunburned). We came away with new connections, sun-kissed smiles, and the kind of memories that make us proud to be part of this amazing community.

Chrome, Classics & Generational Favorites

The car lineup was nothing short of impressive. Gleaming chrome, meticulously restored interiors, custom paint jobs, and every generation of engine tuning you could imagine were on display. But few rows drew as much consistent attention as the Mustangs for us.

Mustang Row was a timeline of American muscle and innovation, with models ranging from a 1965 classic fastback all the way to a modern GT. It was here that our family had a few of their own favorites:

ree
  • Mom and Teen were enchanted by a bright white coupe named "My Little Pony." This lovingly cared-for classic Mustang came with a sign that told its story, proudly displayed in front like a family album. Its nostalgic charm, glossy finish, and pure retro vibe made it a natural standout.

  • Mom was drawn to the heavy-hitters of the 1960s - those original muscle machines that roar with authority and carry that unmistakable Ford silhouette.

    ree
  • Meanwhile, the younger generation was fascinated by the Mustangs of the 1980s and 90s. Their angular bodies and emerging-era electronics brought back childhood memories for some, and sparked fresh interest for others.

    ree
  • Dad's top pick? A silver-grey early 1970s Ford Bronco with lifted suspension, blacked-out wheels, and rugged General Grabber tires. This Bronco looked like it belonged in a Pacific Northwest adventure film. Built to climb mountains and win shows, it hit the sweet spot of restoration meets capability.

  • Grandpa's eyes lit up at the sight of a retro-modified 1939 Studebaker, cleanly restored with modern comforts and a for-sale sign priced at $33,000. “I’d take it home today if Grandma were here to say yes,” he joked.

And then there was Bugs - our littlest enthusiast - whose favorite part wasn’t a car at all, but the free Hot Wheels giveaway at the Denoro’s booth. Watching him carefully select his miniature car with a serious expression and wide eyes reminded us that sometimes it only takes one tiny moment to spark a lifelong love of cars.

Local Vendors That Fueled the Fun

No event is complete without local food, drinks, and the small business booths that give events their unique flavor. The vendors at the Fife Community Car Show added delicious charm and serious refreshment to a hot summer day.

ree
  • Wandering Cowgirl Coffee was our first stop. Their turquoise trailer was impossible to miss, and their espresso drinks hit the spot. Whether you needed caffeine or hydration, they delivered it with flair and friendliness.

  • Reigning Kettle Corn kept our hands full and our mouths happy. Their giant bag of sweet-and-salty popcorn didn’t last long, and we weren’t the only ones with fingers covered in kettle sugar.

    ree
  • Dawg Eat Dogs had the most consistent line of the day, and for good reason. With classic toppings and that perfect cookout-style flavor, their hot dogs were a total hit with kids, car enthusiasts, and casual passersby alike.

  • We also stopped by the FME Chamber of Commerce booth and spotted Linda Disney, Chamber President & CEO. We didn’t get a chance to say hello with the Hot Wheels booth pulling little ones away, but it was great to see her showing up to support our community in person.

This event wasn’t just about showcasing cars; it was about showcasing connection. Everyone from food vendors to business leaders helped shape an atmosphere that was inviting, joyful, and distinctly Fife.

Historic Landmarks at the Heart of the Show

The setting for the event deserves its own spotlight.

ree
  • The Dacca Barn served as the architectural centerpiece of the event. Its clean white siding and rich wooden beams were a stunning backdrop to the car show. This space, a historic staple in the area, brings people together for weddings, classes, city meetings, and community events like this.

    ree
  • Right next door, the Fife History Museum and the iconic Chehalis Western 684 locomotive added a sense of legacy to the day. Kids dreamed about being a conductors while photographers took full advantage of the yellow-and-black color palette. With vibrant blue-purple hydrangeas blooming nearby, the whole display felt like a well-preserved love letter to Fife’s past.

    ree
  • From the entrance, the view was absolutely cinematic: a large American flag waved proudly over a crowd of visitors, with vendor tents bustling below and rows of hot rods stretching into the distance. It reminded all of us that patriotism, pride, and preservation walk hand in hand.

Why We Show Up

At PacWest Pressure Washing, we don’t just show up to work; we show up for our community. We believe in clean, polished appearances, and healthy neighborhoods. But we also believe in history. In storytelling. In keeping traditions alive.

ree

Events like the Fife Community Car Show align perfectly with who we are and what we value. They give us the opportunity to engage with our neighbors, support local businesses, and take pride in the places we live and work.

As a family-owned, community-powered business, we see so much overlap between restoring a building and restoring a classic car. Both take patience, passion, and an eye for detail. Both honor the past while preparing for the future. And both deserve to shine.

Until Next Year...

We came for the cars, but we stayed for the people. From the Mustang row to the Hot Wheels booth, from kettle corn to classic rock, every moment of the Fife Community Car Show was a reminder of how good it feels to slow down, connect, and appreciate the beauty around us.

Thank you to the Fife Historical Society, every volunteer, vendor, and visitor who made this event a success. We’re already looking forward to next year.
